The details of our research interests are referred to publications.
Organic Semiconductors
We are interested in organic semiconductors for opto-electronic device application. The properties of organic semiconductors are expected by means of quantum mechanical calculation tools and verified through real device fabrication, such as organic thin film transistor, organic photovoltaic cell, organic light emitting diode and organic thermoelectrics.
(Organic) Batteries
The performance of an organic battery is highly dependent on the properties of the redox-active organic materials (ROMs). We design electro-active organic materials to improve the electro-chemical performance of (organic) battery cells, through the synthesis of new active materials and complexation with carbon-based supporters.
Nano Materials
Nano-structure related property of organic and inorganic materials is one of our main interests. The optical and/or electrical behaviors of self-assembled or directly grown nano-material are dramatically different with the bulk materials. Investigating the nano-structure dependant properties will provide new possibility to overcome the limitation of which the bulk materials inherently possess, to be applicable for various applications.
Functional Polymeric System
Control of polymer's chain conformation or aggregation tendency provids outstanding performance, in terms of physical, electrical and optical properties. Increasing thermal diffusion property, from inducing segmentally ordered nano-crystalline phase in a polymer matrix, is one of our recent issues.
